Bethesda, MD — November 21, 2025 — National Library of Medicine is proud to announce that its research team, led by Dr. Clem McDonald, has been awarded the Menopause Best Paper Award by The Menopause Society. This award recognizes the most outstanding paper published in Menopause in 2024, selected by the Editor-in-Chief of the journal.
The honored paper, “Use of menopausal hormone therapy beyond age 65 years and its effects on women’s health outcomes by types, routes, and dosages” (Menopause 2024; 31(5):363–371), was authored by Seo Baik, PhD, and colleagues. The study provides critical insights into the long-term use of menopausal hormone therapy, examining its impact on women’s health outcomes across different treatment types, administration routes, and dosages.
“This recognition underscores the importance of advancing evidence-based research in women’s health during the menopausal and postmenopausal stages,” said Dr. Baik. “We are honored that our work has been acknowledged by The Menopause Society and hope it contributes meaningfully to clinical practice and patient outcomes.”
The award was announced at The Menopause Society’s 2025 Annual Meeting, where leaders in women’s health gathered to celebrate groundbreaking contributions to the field. The Best Paper Award highlights commitment to promoting excellence in research and improving the quality of care for women worldwide.
Dr. Seo Baik is a Staff Scientist in the lab of Dr. Clem McDonald in the Computational Health Research Branch of the Division of Intramural Research at National Library of Medicine.
