James Clements, who has served as chief compliance officer for Carson Group since July 2020, has left the firm to join CreativeOne Securities, an independent broker/dealer in Overland Park, Kan. Jeff Eisenbauer was serving as president, CEO and CCO of CreativeOne.
CreativeOne was launched in 1984 as a life brokerage, Creative Marketing, and went on to create new annuities for national insurance companies. The firm now operates an independent marketing organization, broker/dealer and registered investment advisor. The RIA has about $6 billion in total assets.
“What I have already learned about CreativeOne Securities is that representatives are never just another number in the system,” Clements wrote in a LinkedIn post. “They are a true partner. Our platform is built for real independence, the kind that lets you serve your clients your way, without pressure to push proprietary or pre-packaged products.”
Carson, the $57 billion RIA based in Omaha, Neb., has hired Kristin Streff, the former director of employment services at First National Bank of Omaha, as its new CCO. She joins on April 28.
“We thank James Clements for his tenure at Carson Group and wish him all the best in his next role,” said a Carson spokesperson, in a statement. “Talent is a core pillar of our corporate strategy, with a strong focus on attracting the best and brightest minds in the industry. With a deep understanding of the compliance landscape and the role of the function in a thriving business, Kristin will help us continue to evolve our compliance capabilities into a strategic differentiator.”
